fluorescent WILLEMITE with ZINCITE, FRANKLINITE - Sterling Mine, New Jersey, USA

Flat laying secondary Willemite crystals, black Franklinite (there's a thin vein with it on one side), and red-orange Zincite in light colored Calcite.

Willemite is fluorescent in SW and LW UV and has a lasting phosphorescence.

Under LW UV there are a few small areas of yellow fluorescence on Zincite (rare) and a bit of odd pale-white fluorescence on Calcite.

To show the fluorescent response the specimen was illuminated using 6 watt 254nm (Short Wave) / 366nm (Long Wave) UVGL-58 lamp (you need a proper UV light source to observe the fluorescence, more powerful lamp = brighter response).
