SPHALERITE - Doan's Lead Mine, New Galena, Pennsylvania, USA

Adamantine brown Sphalerite with grayish Quartz and Calcite in dolomitic matrix, on styrofoam base.

These specimens do exist - in only old collections, like this one. The mine was abandoned and now it sits in the middle of Lake Galena. Good luck diving!
